I was on bus 14 last Friday afternoon to meet my cousins, I knew where to get off but when I pushed the door to open it, it didn't. The guy I was sitting next to yelled out to the driver but he drove on. And so I found myself on the other side of Granville Island Bridge. Rather than catch the bus back (which would have been easy), I decided a touristy thing to do would be to walk across the bridge.
It was quite a walk and I also was a little anxious - it was windy and whilst there is a pedestrian footpath which is raised a little higher than the road, there are no railings to divide you and the road!
The bridge also forks going west (the direction is right hey CP?) - they put a lined pedestrian crossing along the forks for you to cross at but the cars are whizzing by.
I don't think I will be doing that again, but it gave me a good view of the harbour. I can't believe how built up the harbour's edge is with sky-rises. There is a mass of them....
