I've been watching '30 minute meals with Jamie Oliver' this past week when I can - I am quite doubtful these meals can be cooked by the average person in 30 minutes, but the meals do look achievable.
I had heard of Yorkshire Puddings before but never realised they were so simple and meant to be eaten with a roast.
I'm on a baking frenzy today (cookies in previous post this morning) - whipped these up out of curiosity and craving for something to eat! I followed Jamie's recipe which he stated on the show. I forgot to heat the muffin tray with the oil in it before pouring the batter in but they seemed to turn out OK even though they were a little stuck to the pan.
1 cup plain flour
1 cup milk
1 egg
Pinch of salt
Preheat oven 220 degrees.
1. Heat muffin tray with oil in the bottom of each muffin cup.
2. Mix all the ingredients together - he used a blender, so I made sure I sifted the flour and used a slotted spoon to mix.
3. Pour batter in tin - filled 6 large muffin cups.
4. Bake for approx 20 minutes or until puffed and golden on top.
I'd been thinking before I made them that parmesan would be great in them! Alas I do not keep parmesan in the fridge as I know for me it's dangerous for my waistline!
I did eat one with a wedge of camembert and it was very good! : )
